Wounded Warriors Ministry

The Military Ministry Fund was established in the early 1990’s to honor Lt. John B Kerner, a devout Christian, who died off the coast of North Carolina in a helicopter crash in 1985.  The fund established in his name has been used to assist and support military families since that time.  Thousands of dollars have been disbursed to assist families in need, to support Bible studies on base, to assist in transportation of military families during transfers, to provide emergency food, and most recently, to support the Wounded Warriors program at Camp Pendleton.

Baby Care Kits

We are still making up Baby Care Kits to be sent to, Church World Service who sends them where they are most needed.

You can still help as we are going to make this an ongoing project, listed are the items required per kit.

6 cloth diapers ; 2 T-shirts or undershirts; 2 washcloths; 2 gowns or sleepers; 2 diapers pins (we have extra’s);1 sweater or sweatshirt (can be hand knitted or crocheted), 2 receiving blankets (one can be hand-knitted or crocheted).

Items must be new and under 12 months in size.

Instructions on how to prepare the kits are available. Many of these items can be purchased at the Dollar Store, WalMart.com, etc.   Church World Service asks for a donation of $2.00 per kit for processing.

It costs approximately $3.00 per kit for us to ship these kits to Church World Service. If you would like to help out with the shipping costs, you can make a check out to CBC and in the memo section of your check put “Kit Fund” The money in this designated fund will help us to cover these costs.

The need is great, so this will be an ongoing effort. If you would like more information on how to help out, please contact Paul Patterson (760 723-0818).
